Vertical Form, Fill and Seal Machines (VFFS)
VFFS machines are a type of bagging equipment that creates, fills and seals sachets, pouches and bags with various products across all industries.
A VFFS Machine comprises a product dispenser (auger for powder, weighing machine for solids, depositor for liquids, counter for objects etc.), a film unwinder, a forming and sealing station, a cutting station and an exit conveyor.
The heat-sealable material is pulled into the machine and the sides are sealed to create a tube. The bottom of the bag is sealed as the synchronised dosing system deposits the product into the newly formed bag. Immediately after this, the top of the bag is sealed and cut from the rest of the film allowing it to drop onto the discharge conveyor and exit the machine. This process is continuous meaning that when one pack is being filled the side and bottom seals are being created simultaneously for the next bag.
These machines can be configured to create varying pack styles including flat sachets and gusseted, block bottom and quad packs. They can also be equipped with printers, labellers, valve applicators and special seals e.g. zip locks.
