A300 VFFS Machine

A300 Vertical Form Fill and Seal packing machine.

This is a low-cost, adaptable, fully automatic machine with electrical and pneumatic operation. Its robust construction and operator friendly controls allows for increased efficiency and output whilst reducing costs and human error.​

Two pneumatic cylinders create vertical and horizontal seals by moving the sealing jaws and vertical seal into the packaging film whilst the film is moved by two drive belts. This machine configuration allows for a wide range of pack shapes and sizes and so it seen across all sectors.​

The electrics are controlled by a Mitsubishi PLC and Exor HMI which has 100 storage programs allowing fast format changes between differing bag sizes and fill.​

This machine can create packs from 100mm-300mm wide and 100mm-400mm long (780mm with double pull). The bag length is determined by the encoder, which can easily be set within the machine HMI.​

  • Vertical seal 410mm long, made from anodised aluminium.
  • Sealing jaws 340mm wide (up to 300mm wide pack) made from stainless steel.
  • Long lasting durable cutting knife, easily removable for cleaning and replacement.
  • Welded box bar mild steel frame with high grade aluminium plates (available in stainless steel depending on requirements)
  • Forming set (depending on customers pack width) for forming the pack from the roll of film.
  • Vertical seal cylinder pushes the vertical seal bar into the film to create the rear vertical seal on the pack.
  • Jaw seal cylinder pushes the sealing jaws into the film to create the top and bottom horizontal seals on the pack.
  • Knife cylinders push the cutting knife through the film at the correct time to cut the pack to the correct length.
  • Brake cylinder stops the film unwinding from reel holder during full operation.
  • Belt drive cylinders locate centrally against the forming set, allowing the belts to pull the packaging film down.
  • Mitsubishi PLC for all inputs and outputs.
  • Mitsubishi temperature controls for the vertical and jaw seals, allowing setting up to 200ºC. Controls use PID control to maintain a constant temperature level.
  • Viper safety relay wired in with emergency stop and full guarding.
  • Contactor and overload to control outfeed conveyor.
  • HMI colour touchscreen allowing user to set up and switch between programs.
  • Sensor for detecting registration mark on the film.
  • 110V electrical cartridge heaters with J type thermocouple in sealed housing for temperature control.
  • Electrical safety circuit provides operator safety to risk level 3.
  • Stop category 0 as defined by EN60204-1.
  • The above offers double redundancy electrically and isolating the pneumatic supply.
  • Full guarding in place, when opened pneumatic supply is isolated.
  • Safety sensor on sealing jaws to prevent operation with any obstruction.
  • Safety gate interlocks prevent operation of machine when opened.
